Admission Requirements
Incoming students are expected to be Calculus-ready. A mathematics entrance exam will be given to assess a student's incoming skills. Students who are not Calculus-ready will be admitted on a probationary basis and will be required to take Algebra or Pre-Calculus to prepare them for the program. Only students who are Calculus-ready will be fully admitted into the Information Science program and be able to progress at a normal rate.
Incoming students should also be practiced users of computers. Information Science focuses on knowledge-based systems that are derived from data. Information Scientists use computers as the primary tool for data analysis and modeling and as a host in the design of knowledge applications.
